Our Story

Hello, my name is Tamara, founder of Spark and Revive by Thirty Three Candle & Soap Inc. based in Brooklyn, NY.

How does someone who used to run away from the candle store in the mall start a candle business?

In 2018, I was on a mission to gain clarity, find peace, and create joy. After developing goals for different areas of my life, I stumbled upon self care as one of the ways to create the lifestyle I wanted.

In 2020, I looked for new ways to fall in love with my space. I purchased a candle on the whim, and then another. Soon, I had a collection of about a dozen candles. At this same time, I was looking for a new hobby and found candle making.

From there, I spent months researching the best ingredients and techniques to improve my skills. Fast forward to 2021 when I created Spark and Revive by Thirty Three Candles & Soap Inc - handcrafted soy candles and flameless alternatives with a focus on helping others find self care routines and joy to lead a well lived life.

Our Craft

A Cleaner Burn

We use soy wax as a cleaner alternative to paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum and may include toxic chemicals when burned. Soy wax, on the other hand, is all-natural, biodegradable, and derived from soybeans. With minimal soot when properly used, soy wax also lasts longer.

Breathe Easy

Our fragrances are sourced from companies that care about safety and health. Each one is selected not only for its captivating scent, but to ensure it is safe to use in your home.

As such, our fragrances are regulated by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and are free of phthalates, carcinogens, mutagens, and organ/reproductive toxins. We want to make sure you breathe easy while enjoying our products in your home.

The Handcrafted Process

Each candle is handcrafted in small batches of six, labeled, and packaged without machinery. With attention to detail, all products are high-quality and yet maintain that handcrafted appeal.

We do not aim to compete with big businesses which can churn out thousands of candles a day. Instead, we focus on spreading love, it's the Brooklyn way!

Flameless Alternatives

It is important for us to offer alternatives to candles for those who do not wish to have an open flame in their home.

Wax Melts are a perfect alternative as you can indulge in the same fragrances as the candles by melting the soy wax in a wax warmer. While there are wax warmers heated by tea light candles, we recommend an electric warmer for those who truly crave a flameless alternative to candles.

Reed Diffusers also offer a flameless alternative. We have sourced a base that is 100% all-natural and matches our frangrance oils in that it is free of phthalates and other harmful chemicals. Our reed diffusers are also allergen free and contain 0% Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's).
